At the end of each season the pool at Lakeview Park in Nampa, Idaho has it’s annual traditional dog pool party to raise money for local Off-Leash park!
This year the event was attended by over 700 people accompanied by over 300 happy pooches who have raised over $7500 towards a an off-leash dog park project at the intersection of 2nd Street South and East Amity Avenue in Nampa which is estimated to cost $80,000 once completed.
The coordinator and marketing director for Nampa Parks and Recreation Jennifer Vanderpool, said about 40 pet-friendly vendors attended the event, some of which donated products as raffle prizes.
“It’s a fantastically fun day,” Vanderpool said. “We really wanted to expand to raise money for the dog park.”
This is the third year the event has been held and each year it is growing in popularity with more venders and sponsors attending as well as hundreds of dogs who play and interact with each other in a fun and peaceful environment.
“It’s a great event for the end of the season, because dogs are going to get cooped up, you know,” Tapp said. “We did the whole thing. We did the pool, the walk, everything.”
