Peugeot have released pictures and info on their monster rally car which is due to compete in the 2015 dakar rally. Called the 2008 DKR, this car will be driven over the dunes by Carlos Sainz and Cyril Despres.

The 2015 Peugeot Dakar Rally car has been modeled on Peugeot’s latest crossover, the 2008 and will be sponsored by Red Bull and Total. This monster machine was a joint venture between Peugeot’s Style Center and Sport Design Department.

The new Peugeot Dakar Rally car has been fitted with big, chunky wheels and countless other modifications to battle the harsh race conditions.

Surprisingly, the 2015 Peugeot Dakar Rally car will not be four-wheel-drive, instead, Peugeot have chosen a two-wheel-drive transmission which they claim makes the car run better on sand. They also state that a the two-wheel-drive system also allows for bigger 37 inch wheels and a higher suspension system.

Unfortunately, Peugeot hasn’t released any information on whats gonna power their new monster rally car.
