Ford has unveiled their new Ford Edge Concept at the LA auto show. The next-gen Ford Edge is due to go on sale in the next two years and will probably be identical to the concept presented at the motor show.
The new Ford Edge will come equipped with self-parking, obstacle avoidance systems, adaptive steering, Lane-Keeping System, adaptive cruise control and collision warning with brake support, and a Blind Spot Information System. In comparison to the current version of the Ford Edge, the concept comes with a completely new exterior and interior design, LED headlights and DRLs, Active Grille Shutters and air curtains.

Ford hasn’t specified what kind of engine is going to be under the hood, but hinted at it being a member of the company’s turbocharged EcoBoost family. The new Ford edge’s efficiency will be aided by shutters in the grille that improve aerodynamics and temperature control, as well as ducts in the front fascia that direct the airflow through the wheel wells and along the sides of the vehicle to help lower drag.
The original Ford Edge offered customers a compelling choice for an accommodating, efficient and safe medium utility vehicle. The new Ford Edge will build on these cornerstones to create a global vehicle with technology to make life easier, and design and craftsmanship to appeal to customers around the globe.
Key attributes of the Ford Edge Concept – a sleek, sporty appearance; capability; fuel efficiency; and technology that assists the driver – are in line with what customers value around the world, which is driving global growth in the utility vehicle segment.

As for the interior, the new Ford Edge concept features a leather instrument panel, a 10-inch touch screen center display with MyFord Touch, a dynamic center stack, a newly designed gear shifter, and a unique steering wheel.
As you have noticed the new Ford Edge shares many design elements as the new Ford Ecosport.
