A real life Barbie Dream House has just opened it’s door to tourists in Sunrise, Florida. The 10,000 square foot of pink plastic is every little girl’s dream home.
The world’s first ever life-size replica’s of the plastic toy’s Malibu beach house allows Barbie’s most ardent admirers to live out their girlish fantasies in the sprawling doll house.
Every little girl’s dream of inhabiting the world of the all-American doll can now become a reality in the interactive experience, a joint venture between Barbie’s manufacturer Mattel and EMS Entertainment.
The Barbie Dream House was built in less than a year, using more than 20 pounds of glitter and 100 gallons of pink paint.
The installation includes the best of Barbie – 350 dolls and collector memorabilia, Barbie’s friends, family and of course her love interest Ken.
Guests can meander through the experience in an elevator inspired by Barbie’s playhouse, which also includes a living room, bedroom, closet, bathroom, kitchen, balcony and entertainment room.
Under the strong influence of pink, the furniture and decor pay homage to the girly hue, with a bright-pink baby grand piano among the furniture.
As part of the girlish adventure, parents can book the venue for birthday parties. Packages include the opportunity to strut one’s stuff down the Fashion Runway – after model-training, make-up/hair styling and the chance to choose an outfit.
Another offering called ‘The Rockstar Stage,’ offers choreography/performance training and the chance to rock out on the Barbie stage.
The installation is currently open at the Sawgrass Mills in Sunrise, Florida with tickets ranging from $14 to $29. Another Barbie experience opened later in May in Berlin, a 25,000 square foot showcase.
