Cam-Aero Hot Rod - Car Of The Day

Today’s car of the day is this heavily modified 1968 Camaro. Nicknamed the Cam-Aero Hot Rod, this car is the work of Centerline Vehicle Designs and the proud owner is Warren Prout.

The custom designers have converted the Camaro into a mid engined car by dropping in a 1975 Olds 455 V8 engine where the back seats used to sit. The engine has been fitted with an Edelbrock intake, Holley carb and custom-made headers. No info on power but we imagine this machine can churn out a high number of horses.

The Camaro body was widened and stretched making it 5-inches wider and 10-inches longer. The roof was kindly donated by a 1990 Lumina and the hatchback section came from a Monza.

The doors were moved out 1/2 inch to make the glass flush with the top, and the base of the windshield was moved out 2 inches in an effort to be flush with the steel.

Everything else was handformed on an English wheel and painted black and the roof of the car measures only 45 inches from the surface of the road.
