DeviantArt is a global online community where artists can showcase various forms of individual artwork. First launched on August 7, 2000 by Scott Jarkoff, Matthew Stephens, Angelo Sotira and others whose headquartered based in the Hollywood area of Los Angeles, California, United States.
Their aim is to provide a website where any artist can exhibit works and discuss with their peers. There is a comprehensive category structure, including photography, digital art, traditional art, literature, Flash, filmmaking, skins for applications, operating system customization utilities and others, along with extensive downloadable resources such as tutorials and stock photography.
There are over 25 million members who between them have submitted over 246 million works which is continuing to grow rapidly with around 140,000 submissions each day. DeviantArt users also submit over 1.4 million “favorites” and 1.5 million comments every day. The website deviantart.com attracts at least 36 million visitors each year making it the 13th largest social network with 3.8 million visits each week.
